Mobile management company MobileIron has announced its Anyware enterprise mobility management platform, and the product’s integration with Salesforce.com’s existing AppExchange platform.
Following an IDC report stating that one billion new smartphones will be added to the global BYOD landscape, MobileIron’s vice president of strategy, Ojas Rege, told Computing that the company believes “most of these devices won’t have access to on-premise mobility management systems”.

Getting in on the ground floor with Salesforce.com, Rege believes, is a particularly good strategy to grab a slice of this emerging market. 
“Clearly, salespeople are all mobile – they’re probably the most mobile people out there,” said Rege.
“Every single salesperson who uses Salesforce.com is now a potential user of MobileIron, so our integration means you can buy Anyware through Salesforce.com.”
Featuring a single login between Anyware and Salesforce AppExchange, the combined platform aims to add MobileIron security and management to email, apps and all content across Salesforce, minimising “helpdesk and IT overhead through self-service and simplicity”.
Apparently, it will enable Salesforce system administrators “the tools to manage an entire mobile deployment” through the Salesforce interface.
“Mobile is the greatest productivity enabler of the decade,” added Bob Tinker, CEO of MobileIron. 
“Anyware… lets every company, whether small or large, quickly transform into a Mobile First organization.” The product currently supports Android 4.0 and iOS 5.0, with no current announcement of Windows 8 or support for the ailing BlackBerry 10 platform, whose BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) could be particularly challenged by the collaboration between MobileIron and Salesforce.
Salesforce’s website carries guidance for use of its Classic mobile application via BES’ Application Push delivery solution, but this information has not been updated since BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.1, which was released in 2006.
