SAN FRANCISCO—Alleged Silk Road drug kingpin Ross Ulbricht made his third court appearance in San Francisco this morning, and it didn’t last more than five minutes. In a brief appearance before a US Magistrate Judge, Ulbricht’s lawyer, a public defender, said that his client would agree to be moved to the Southern District of New York where the government wants him. Brandon LeBlanc, the public defender, made clear that Ulbricht hadn’t given up his fight to be released on bail. “He may aggressively pursue bail at that point,” LeBlanc told the judge. LeBlanc also stated that he wanted it in the record that Ulbricht denied the various aliases stated in the charges against him, which would include the “Dread Pirate Roberts” moniker. Ulbricht was dressed in a maroon-colored jumpsuit marked “Alameda County Jail” on top of a green shirt, same as last week.
