Don Buciak II Amazon and the United States Postal Service have decided that you definitely should be able to get stuff delivered to your door on a Sunday—if you live in certain American cities. Late Sunday, the retail giant announced that Amazon Prime members living in the Los Angeles and New York metro areas will now be able to order something on Friday and have it delivered by Sunday.

Other cities, encompassing “a large portion of the US population,” including Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, and Phoenix, are expected to get Sunday service in 2014.

The USPS typically doesn’t make deliveries on Sunday, but it does offer the service in some areas at an extra charge. It’s still unclear what Amazon is paying the USPS for the privilege or how much that will affect the postal service’s troubled bottom line.
