Five new ruby packages required for puppet and foreman support in Red HatEnterprise Linux OpenStack Platform version 4 are now available.

Five Ruby packages, including puppet-3.2.4 and facter-1.6.6, were added to RedHat Storage 2.1 Update 3.Puppet provides centralized system management using a cross-platformspecification language. This makes it possible to manage the separate elementsnormally aggregated in different files, including users, cron jobs, and hosts, along with obviously discrete elements such as packages, services, and files. Facter is a lightweight program that gathers basic node information about thehardware and operating system. It is especially useful for retrieving thingslike operating system names, hardware characteristics, IP addresses, MACaddresses, and SSH keys. It allows gathering of node information that may becustom or site-specific and is extensible by including your own custom facts.Facter can also be used to create conditional expressions in Puppet that key offthe values returned by facts. The other three new packages are hiera-1.0.0 (a simple hierarchical databasesupporting plugin data sources), ruby-augeas-0.4.1 (ruby bindings for augeas),and ruby-shadow-1.4.1 (Ruby bindings for shadow password access).* These five Ruby packages are required for full puppet and foreman support inRed Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform version 4.(BZ#1072179)
