Hollywood’s demands that Google remove from its search results a subreddit that encourages users to post links to free full length movies has reinvigorated the subreddit’s ailing traffic.
TorrentFreak reported the notice Tuesday, and the subreddit FullLengthFilms saw daily clicks skyrocket to more than 300,000 on Thursday, from an average of about 2,400.
Google hasn’t removed the site from its search results despite the Motion Picture Association of America’s takedown request. Even so, it was perhaps a slight victory of sorts for the studios. The rules of the subreddit now say that it will only allow legal content.
