Updated libpcap packages that fix one bug are now available for Red HatEnterprise Linux 7.

The Packet Capture library (pcap) provides a high level interface to packetcapture systems. All packets on the network, even those destined for otherhosts, are accessible through this mechanism. It also supports saving capturedpackets to a ‘savefile’, and reading packets from a ‘savefile’. libpcap providesimplementation-independent access to the underlying packet capture facilityprovided by the operating system. This update fixes the following bug:* Prior to this update, the libpcap utility was leveraging the TPACKET_V3variant of memory mapped packet capturing mechanism for the AF_PACKET socketfamily provided by Linux kernel. However, because of changes in kernel behavior, users of libpcap could encounter unexpected, and from their point-of-viewincorrect, library function calls results, in certain cases. In order tomitigate this problem, memory mapped packet capture mechanism has beendowngraded to previous TPACKET_V2 alternative provided by the kernel. As aresult, libvirt DHCP snooping implementation now works reliably. (BZ#1169773)Users of libpcap are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix thebug.
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released erratarelevant to your system have been applied. This update is available via the Red Hat Network.
