After a number of reported laser strikes against airline and, even more recently, ferry pilots, apparently awful people are now firing the handheld devices against bus drivers as well.
On Wednesday, the New York City Police Department released a short surveillance video from one week ago, on the Bx15 bus. It shows a passenger shining a laser into the rear view mirror while at the intersection of East 181st Street and 3rd Avenue in the Bronx.
The suspect, whose name is unknown, is seen holding a red water bottle and laughing to other passengers as he shoots the laser multiple times. In a statement sent to Ars, the NYPD said that the suspect “disembarked at an unknown location,” suggesting that unless someone comes forward to identify him, he will never be found.
