Updated Samba package that adds one enhancement is now available for RedHat Gluster Storage 3.1.
Samba is an implementation of the server message block (SMB) protocol. Itallows the networking of Microsoft Windows®, Linux, UNIX, and otheroperating systems together, enabling access to Windows-based file andprinter shares. Samba’s use of SMB allows it to appear as a Windows serverto Windows clients. This advisory includes an updated package that fixes a bug.* With the release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3 , the version of Sambainstalled with Red Hat Gluster Storage will be replaced by the newer Sambaversion of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. As a consequence, the SMB features of theRed Hat Gluster Storage installation will stop working. With this update, the Samba version of Red Hat Gluster Storage is updated sothat it is not overwritten by the Samba version in Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Youmust install this update either prior to or along with the Red Hat EnterpriseLinux update. This ensures continued functionality ofthe SMB features of the Red Hat Gluster Storage installation. (BZ #1352401)Users of the Samba packages in Red Hat Gluster Storage are advised toupdate to the packages provided in this advisory.
Before applying this update, make sure all previously released erratarelevant to your system have been applied. For details on how to apply this update, refer to:https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258Red Hat Gluster Storage Server 3.1 on RHEL-7
